With over 21,000 alumni over the years, the Mahinda College Old Boys’ Association (MCOBA) is now celebrating its 115th year. While MCOBA serves as the central body, it is supported by several branches that have grown from its foundation. These branches extend beyond Galle, including organizations like the MCOBA Colombo Branch and Mahinda Club. Additionally, there are overseas branches such as the Mahinda College OBA-UK and Mahindians UAE, creating a vast and well-connected network. Furthermore, there are sub-groups based on graduation years, as well as various old clubs and organizations, including the Mahinda Cricket Foundation, Past Prefects Association, and the Mahinda College Old Band Boys’ Association, among others.

Annual Event Highlights
MCOBA understands its responsibility towards the students and the community, which is why it organizes several successful events each year. Below are a few of the event highlights that continue to be held annually
MAHINDA NITE
Held on the second night of the iconic Mahinda-Richmond big match, 'Mahinda Nite' is a grand gathering of past and present Mahindians. The proceeds from this event contribute to the development of sports at Mahinda College.
SEASON OF THE GOLDS
A vibrant series of events that lights up the big match season, 'Seasons of the Golds' includes festivities such as 'Flag of the Golds,' 'Art of the Golds,' and 'Kite of the Golds.' This annual tradition has become a beloved part of the school culture, raising both spirits and funds.
NAVIGATOR
Navigator is Mahinda College's annual educational and career fair exhibition. It serves as a platform for students to explore academic and professional opportunities, connect with industry experts, and gain valuable insights to shape their futures.
GOLDEN PRIME
The 'Golden Prime' Cricket Carnival inspires young Mahindians to pursue cricket with passion and dedication, shaping the future of the sport at the college.
CHARITY AND RELIGIOUS
Among the community and religious events organized by MCOBA, notable ones include 'Wesak Bakthi Gee' and the 'Poson Poya Day Program' for students, along with public events such as blood donation drives and various environmental initiatives.
The M Series Celebrations
The M Series celebration has become a tradition at Mahinda College, making significant anniversaries with grand events. The series began with M123 to celebrate 123rd aniversary of the school and was followed by M125 and M133 events.
