About Mahinda
Nurturing excellence, talent, and a thriving community.
Remarkable, Invincible
From its inception, Mahinda has been a beacon of knowledge and enlightenment. It has played a pivotal role in the revival of Buddhism in the Western world, thanks to the efforts of Western intellectuals and the Theosophical Society. The contributions of Colonel Henry Steel Olcott and Helena Petrovna Blavatsky were instrumental in this revival, bringing a renewed interest in Buddhist teachings and practices.

Frank Lee Woodward revitalised Mahinda, constructing new buildings and establishing the Mahinda Scout Troop. Benefactors like Frederick Gordon Pears and educators like Sagaris de Silva dedicated their lives to the growth and development of Mahinda, ensuring its continued success.
